Happy Halloween!!

Ramsay was sporting a cute Halloween outfit all day long that his Auntie Brielle got him. Poor little guy is smaller than we thought he was going to be so this is the first outfit he's worn that has actually fit him! Everything else is to big.
Papa and I ventured out shopping for the first time yesterday and went to All Things Kids and bought Ramsay some clothes that he can wear!
Things are going well and we're adjusting to our new lives as a family of three. It's amazing to me how easy it came to both of us. Ramsay was definitely meant to be a part of our lives and we couldn't imagine it without him now! He's been the perfect addition and such a good baby. He wakes up every couple hours during the night to eat but it's gone well so far. We are enjoying every minute we have with him!
Friday and Saturday we had visitors pretty much all day so today has been the first day that it's just been the three of us and we are loving it! Hard to believe Ramsay is already 4 days old.................time is flying by already.
Here's a picture we took of Ramsay on Friday. He was all dressed up in his baby chef outfit and was looking so adorable! Papa can't wait until he's old enough to help out in the kitchen.

Ramsay Maze Arnold has arrived!!!

Larry and I welcomed our precious baby boy, Ramsay Maze Arnold, into our family at 1:59am on Wednesday, October 27th. He weighs 7 pounds, 10 ounces, is 19 inches long and the most beautiful baby in the entire world! We went into the hospital Tuesday morning at 7:30am to be induced but our baby boy was a little stubborn and waited until early the next morning to arrive. It was a long day with lots of hard work from both him and I, but we managed and he arrived safe and sound and couldn't be more perfect!
Yes, those are tears coming from my eyes just moments after Ramsay arrived and was placed on my belly! It was truly an amazing moment to know that that little miracle had been cooking inside for 9 months and we were so happy to finally meet him!

This is one of Papa's favorite pictures! They were weighing him so his weight is showing and he looks like he's smiling which is just precious!

This is a much better picture of me and the little guy! No tears, just big smiles!!!!!

Daddy was all about doing the first diaper change and has really been a trooper at doing most of the diaper changes. It's been great for me!

Here are my guys this morning hanging out at the hospital. I love it! Gets me all teary to see them snuggling together.

Finally, home at last! So far things have been going good. The kitties aren't to sure what to think about him though. Nimbus doesn't like it when Ramsay cries. He gets worried and goes to check on him. He's going to make a great big brother kitty for Ramsay!

So for those inquiring about Ramsay's name, he was named after the famous Chef Gordon Ramsay (ya know, since Papa is working on becoming a chef!) and his middle name, Maze, is one of Chef Ramsay's restaurants in London.
One last photo for everyone to enjoy.

Induction, here we come...........

Well, we went to our weekly appointment today and my blood pressure was still a little high and the swelling in my feet/ankles has not gotten any better. They ordered blood work and a sono and even though those seemed to be okay, they still wanted to get me on the books to be induced so that baby boy can arrive safely without any problems. So, we go tomorrow to be induced!! Papa and I were hoping for an induction but were a little shocked when they said tomorrow. It's sinking in that this is it for us! No longer will it be just he and I at home with the kitties. After today we will have our little bundle of joy with us and we can't wait!!

He's Still Baking............

Just got back from my weekly appointment and my blood pressure was a bit high again, 138/80, which is close to being considered high for the doctor but not quite, however it is high for me. Everything else checked out okay and baby boy still hasn't dropped so we're just patiently waiting for him to do his thing! I did ask today how far past my due date they would let me know and they did say no longer than 41 weeks, which was good to hear. Since he's already a good size baby I didn't want to end up with a ten pounder or bigger! HA!!!! We go back next Monday, unless the little guy decides to come before then.

12 Days and Counting

Here we are, 12 days until the official due date, and nothing exciting happening yet. My heartburn has been pretty bad the past few days but other than that there's no indication that a baby is going to come any time soon. I guess for now he's content hanging out in his warm swimming pool.
We haven't done much this weekend as I have been instructed to take it somewhat easy and stay off my feet when I can to keep the swelling down. Today I was in the baking mood though and made a pumpkin/apple pie and two small cherry pies. Both tasted very yummy!

I found this great and easy recipe for pie crust that only has 4 ingredients and it seems to cook perfect every time! I hate nothing more than when the edge of the pie crust gets really brown or burns. This is just absolutely delicious!
Papa made crab fried rice today and it was so yummy. Next on the menu to make, and he's hoping to do it by the end of the night, banana pineapple bread! We bought pineapple as 1) I love pineapple and 2) some women say it helps to induce labor. We figured we would get some and give it a shot and we have some bananas that need used so why not make some banana pineapple bread. I'm anxious to try it!
Tomorrow we have our weekly prenatal appointment. I told the midwife on Friday that I would love to see him in the hospital before my appointment on Monday but at this point that hasn't happened and I don't see it happening so I guess we'll see him in the office tomorrow and go from there.

Healthy Blood Pressure!!

This morning I had a follow up appointment to check my blood pressure since it was a bit high on Monday. All is well today! It was 124/80 so I am able to return to full days at work next week which makes me very happy. I still have to watch the swelling in my feet and ankles but as long as I keep them elevated as much as I can at work and once I get home and drink lots of water I should be able to hang in there until this little guy decides to make his arrival.
I have my regular prenatal appointment on Monday morning and I told the midwife today I would love to see him before that. He told me he was on-call on Monday so I'm thinking Monday would be a great day to have a baby! I'm sure our baby boy has other plans though. We're on his time now so we just have to wait until he decides he's fully cooked!

Appointment Update

Well a lot has happened so far this week and it's only Wednesday! I had my weekly appointment on Monday and baby boy's heart rate was excellent, and of course I gained more weight, but my blood pressure was a bit high when they took it so they made us wait for 10 minutes after my appointment to check it again and it had come down some so they didn't require me to do any blood work or anything special but I have to go back to the doctor on Friday to have my blood pressure checked again to make sure everything is okay.
I went back to the doctor yesterday morning because the swelling in my feet and ankles had gotten pretty bad and painful. They have ordered me to only work half days the rest of this week and they'll decide at my appointment on Friday what the plan will be for next week.
As far as having a baby any time soon, I'm not sure that will happen. As of yesterday he has not dropped yet, he's still pretty high, so until that happens nothing will be happening. The midwife did say she thinks he probably around 7 pounds 5 ounces or 7 pounds 6 ounces so we are going to have a good size boy whenever he does come!
So far I have been luck and have been able to still attend my class on Monday nights as well as keep up with my online biology class that I am taking. Hopefully I can still maintain that after baby boy comes and I won't miss to much. Both instructors have been really good about working with me as long as I keep them updated on what's happening with me.
Papa's classes are going well and he's really loving school. Tonight he is taking his test for his food sanitation certificate. I know he'll do great, he's worked so hard on studying and making sure he knows his stuff. Baby boy and I are very proud of him and look forward to more wonderful dishes that he'll be making for us!
I will try to update the blog after every appointment now for sure to keep everyone in the loop of what's happening with us. Hopefully we have a baby sooner rather than later but as long as he's healthy in the end that's all I am concerned about.

Not Feeling So Hot

This past week has been a bit of a busy week. I had my regular prenatal appointment on Monday and everything looks great with baby boy! We go every Monday now until the little guy comes.
I haven't been feeling the greatest this past week. I've had a lot of Braxton hicks contractions, which are normal, but on top of that I am not fighting a cold and of course there's nothing I can take for it. I stayed home Friday since I was up most of the night coughing as well as a good chunk of Friday morning. I am feeling better today but still not 100% so hopefully this will go ahead soon before baby boy decides to come. The last thing I want is to be sick and not be able to be around him as much as I can!
We got our proofs back on our maternity photos and they are great! Just need to sit down now and decide what we want. I know I have a baby growing in my belly but to see the photos was a shock. I can't believe how big I am! :) It's all for a good cause though so it's okay!
This week at work should be a fairly calm one. The person covering my maternity will be in now full-time so I should be able just to catch up on some things and get some things cleaned up before leaving. We'll see how long I'm at work now and when baby boy decides to make his arrival!

36 Weeks and Ready for Baby!!!

Well, here we are. 36 weeks and only 4 more to go. I can't believe how quickly time has flown by. A lot of women told me their pregnancies just seemed to drag on and on but I've been fortunate enough not to feel that way. Maybe it's because I have been so busy with working and going to school that I just don't have a lot of free time. I'm glad we're all moved and settled in though. If we had tried to move now I would have been no help at all, not that I was much help 4 weeks ago when we did move!
We purchased the crib mattress this weekend so baby boy's room is officially DONE!! Okay, we'll maybe not completely done. We have some additional circles to put up on the walls but everything else is complete. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. We're definitely having a baby for sure!!

I had trouble finding sheets to fit the changing table pad since most sheets these days fit the contoured pads but the contured pad didn't fit in our changing table. So with a suggestion from a co-worker I bought a couple king size pillow cases and they work perfect to cover the pad!

Grandma Jeanette bought this adorable nightlight for baby boy's room. It's super cute and I'm sure it will get used a lot once he sleeps in his room at night.

We start our weekly prenantal appointments tomorrow so I'm anxious to see what they say! I've been having issues with swelling the past couple weeks so I've been trying to stay off my feet as much as possible and drink lots and lots and lots of water. Luckily I am still able to sleep well at night and I really hope that continues for the next few weeks until he arrives. We also have an appointment with baby boy's doctor tomorrow so I am looking forward to talking with her. I said the other day that this is all happening and really real and Larry keeps reminding me that it's been real since the beginning which is funny because I am the one carrying the baby and feeling him move, not daddy. I am ready to see this little guy in person and to also be able to breath again and not have my ribs jabbed daily!
