Car Seat Inspection Is Done!!!

Not a very eventful weekend around our house really. It was nice not to have to run a bunch of places or move a bunch of things. All in all it was a good weekend and the weather was AMAZING!! Saturday morning my mom met us at the Public Health department so we could have the car seat bases checked by Safe Kids to make sure they were installed properly. Daddy did a very good job putting both of them in! They just needed a little more tightening done to them. So now that those have been inspected and approved baby boy can make his arrival any time! :)
Afterwards mom and I went to Kohl's to do a little shopping, then back to Larry and I's condo to hang out and relax and wait for dinner time since the chef was cooking! He made prune stuffed porkchops, roasted potatoes, and green beans for dinner. It was so yummy!! After dinner mom headed home since it was getting kind of late and I decided to work on some homework. I decided to venture out to Homer for the evening then to stay at the house with Cloud since he was all alone and we were going to have to go get him the next morning anyways.
Sunday we took Cloud to meet a great family who fell in love with him immediately and have decided to keep him! Larry and I are so happy that we were able to find a great home for our boy and he seemed pretty happy and content there while we were visiting. I have no doubt that he will be happy and very well loved there. I, of course, cried as we left and it was a mixture of sadness and happiness. They said we could visit any time and take him on dates if we wanted to! We're happy he's in a good home.
The rest of the day I spent doing homework and being lazy. I'm trying to stay off my feet as much as I can since they have been swelling. We go back to the doctor in a week and then we start our weekly appointments.

The Nursery!

Well, I think baby boy's room is finally ready! The only thing we are missing is a mattress for his crib but he'll be sleeping in our room to begin with in the play yard so he has a bed. I bought the bedding set at Walmart and then we lucked out and found these circles for the wall at Target that match perfect! The room looks so much better with the circles on the wall. I'd like to find an alphabet set so we can put his name up there but we have time for that.





I spent a lot of time this past weekend getting things all organized and ready. I also cut, sewed, and washed a bunch of cloth diapers. Now we just need a little tushy to put in them!
We have our next prenatal appointment on Thursday and we're looking forward to hearing baby boy's heartbeat. Only 5.5 weeks left before the big arrival, unless he decides to come early, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he holds out!
This coming Saturday we are going to have the car seat base inspected to make sure it is installed properly. Once that is done and approved, we're ready! I just need to get my hospital bag packed!

Monthly Appointment

Today we had our monthly prenatal appointment and we also had a sonogram. Baby boy was moving all around and the poor sono technician had a heck of a time trying to get the measurements she needed but she finally managed to get them. He is weighing in right now at 5 pounds, 1 ounce, and we still have 7 weeks to go! Hopefully we don't end up with a 12 pound baby, otherwise they might need to knock me out with drugs and wake me up when it's all over with! His heart rate was 164 as he was very active. It's always so much fun to see the little guy on the screen but it since we're getting so close to the due date and he's much bigger it's difficult to always tell what things are unless they point them out. We did get a couple good pictures of his face and he has some chubby cheeks! Can't wait to squeeze them!!! Now we officially getting closer as we start seeing the doctor every 2 weeks. Ready or not, he's coming!!!!!

What a weekend it was! We are a few days behind posting the 32 week picture as we were so busy moving over the weekend that we just didn't have time to take one! We're getting settled in and things are going good. It's so nice to be in Champaign, close to everything. I'm also glad we did this before baby boy came because trying to move with him would have been an even bigger challenge! I'm posting some pictures I took last night of our place. For the most part it's put together but there are a few things that still need a little work!

This is the main bathroom and the bathroom that will be baby boy's. We were going to make it more of a kid themed bathroom but he's not going to be big enough for awhile to appreciate it so we figured this would do for now!

This is the laundry room. The washer and dryer were side by side but we asked to have them stacked to save some room which is great! Now we've got more room to store some things.

The kitchen that the chef absolutely loves! We love having all the cabinets and all the counter space. It's our mission to keep the counters clutter free!!

Baby boy's room is coming together nicely. Just need to get his crib mattress and bedding which we were waiting on until after we moved. Otherwise I think we're all set for his arrival!

He's got a nice big room to play in when he gets a little older and the kitties like to hang out in there as well!

Our bedroom. We still have a few things to put away in there but at least we have our bed and dresser and baby boy's play yard so he can sleep in there with us after he first gets here.


We're exhausted from all the moving but we're happy where we are and know that baby boy will be just as happy! We're looking forward to his arrival in a few short weeks. We have our monthly baby appointment tomorrow, along with a sonogram, and then we're officially hitting the home stretch as we'll be seeing the doctor every two weeks now for a month until we change to every week. Baby boy will be here before we know it!!

32 Weeks and All Moved!

Wow, is it really Monday evening already?? This weekend has flown by. We have been so busy since last Tuesday moving that I can't believe a week has gone by! Thanks to Larry's parents and his uncle we got all the big stuff moved Thursday and Friday night so we had the entire weekend to put things away and do a little relaxing. Today I was so excited to wake up and see my ankles! Me feet and ankles have been all swollen since we started the moving process and because I was able to do some relaxing yesterday they are finally back to normal today.
I hit the 32 week mark on Friday and we've been so busy with moving that we haven't had a chance to take a belly picture so hopefully we'll get that done some time this week. Lots of changes happening and all at once. Because of the move we were able to take the cats but not the dogs. This has been especially hard for me as I am very attached to my boy Cloud and I have been trying to find him a home but have had no luck. Not exactly sure what we are going to do but we have to figure something out quickly. :(
Once we get a little more settled in and things straightened up I'll post pictures of the new place. Just when we think we've got it cleaned up we bring more boxes from the house and it's a mess again. Almost there though and then it will be time for baby boy's arrival!
