Lazy Weekend

This past week has been a very challenging week with the weather. I had a little bit of swelling at the beginning of my pregnancy but it wasn't bad and didn't last long. This past week I experienced the worst of it so far! After working all day Thursday and then going to class that night, I got home and had to soak my feet for a bit and then prop them up the rest of the night. I had the Fred Flintstone syndrome going on for sure!

Thank goodness my feet didn't hurt but they sure did look REALLY bad! By Friday morning the swelling had gone down for the most part but I made sure to drink lots and lots of water all day and keep my legs/feet propped up as best I could under my desk. It was not a very comfortable day but it did help the swelling.
Larry made some yummy looking brushetta this week at class. I am jealous that I didn't get to try any but both looked amazing delicious!

I LOVE having a chef in the house. Baby boy and I are spoiled with lots of good cooking!!! Yesterday we ate very well. For lunch Papa made us pot roast with potatoes and carrots which was awesome! For dinner he made Shepherd's Pie, fresh green beans with mushrooms and onions, and a salad, and for a late dessert last night he made crepes. I LOVE CREPES!!!

It tasted so good!! I'm hungry for one just thinking about it.
Besides eating well yesterday I attended a Norwex party which I found to be very interesting. If you haven't heard of them you should check out their website. It's a company that sells cleaning products that are natural with no chemicals. The rags they have alone look amazing. I can't wait to get mine in and clean. Who knew I would be this excited about cleaning! Their website is www.norwex.com. Check them out!
Nothing much else happened this weekend besides putting together baby shower invitations going to church this morning. It's been so hot that I have tried to just stay at home if possible. Hopefully this coming week will be a little cooler weather wise. Two more weeks of school left for me for the summer and then I get a little break. Boy does my body need it!

Baby Registries Are Complete!

Who knew that baby registries would be so hard! We finished our last one on Friday night and it feels great to be done with them! We decided to register at B. Lime in downtown Champaign. They are a "green" store and carry the cloth diapers that we are planning on using so we thought it would be a great idea to register there and also expose everyone to a great, hidden treasure in Champaign! Registries are done, furniture is put together, baby classes are scheduled, baby shower is scheduled, everything seems to be coming together. Now is we could only decide on a name for our little one! Thank goodness we have a little bit of time left, but it will be here before we know it.
Yesterday I spent the day scrapbooking and had such a great time! I figured there was no better time then the present to get started on baby boy's scrapbook in the hopes that I will keep up with it after he's born. Plus, I wanted to share his story with him, from the very beginning. It's a lot of fun looking at the pictures and writing about various things. I still have some things to write in there but for the most part the pages are done up to this point and now I can just keep adding pictures and information!

This is the first page of baby boy's scrapbook. Now all we need is a baby so I can put in his picture and his name!!

Baby boy has been VERY active today! At one point he even kicked my hand off of my belly. It caught me so off guard I screamed a little! I got tickled after that because he was moving so much my belly was popping in and out. It's a weird sight to see but very cool! Hopefully because he's been so active today he'll sleep good tonight and not keep me up!
Papa made homemade egg rolls for us last evening and they were so good! He is loving his classes and we are enjoying eating the things he makes at home! Tonight, he's making deviled eggs and I can't wait to eat some! Baby boy must be going through a growth spurt because I have been very tired and hungry all the time! I haven't had cravings with my pregnancy until about a week ago and now I want Snickers candy bars, frozen of course, and ROOT BEER!!! I can't get enough root beer!!!! I'm feeling a little thirsty now...............

24 Weeks Down, 16 To Go!!

Not to much exciting happened this past week. I have officially finished my 4th week of summer class and have only 4 more weeks to go. It's amazing how fast time flies when you're so busy with things! Larry's classes are going well. He's really enjoying cooking all the dishes they do. This week in one of his classes he made a balsamic salad for everyone and then the class made Rueben Sandwiches and Scallop Stuffed Mushrooms.

He's pretty proud of the dishes they have been cooking and of course, baby and I as well as his parents and sister, are benefiting from this as well! We're all eating very yummy things these days!
I had my check-up on Friday afternoon. Everything with baby boy is going great! His heart rate was 148 and he was being a little stinker during the appointment. She went to use the doppler to hear his heart beat and she got it for just a second until he moved away. She tried a second time and got it for a few seconds but he decided to move once again. She said this is how his temperment may be during the pregnancy, that he just doesn't want to be touched and bothered. I posted a new belly picture for this week. It's amazing to see how much my body has changed already. 16 more weeks to go before we meet our little one in person. We are so excited!!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend. We had a great day today hanging at the pool with Larry's family until Larry injured his back from jumping off the diving boards. Hopefully he'll feel better in the next day or two but at least we got out in the sun for a couple hours! I have the red skin to prove it! We spent the evening in our backyard with his parents and my mom watching the fireworks. It's so nice to be able to see the fireworks from the yard and not have to deal with all the people and the traffic!

It's been an exciting few days here in our household!!! Thursday night I got home from class and relaxed for a bit before going to bed. Little boy seems to be pretty active late in the evening, which at this point is okay but let's hope that changes when he actually arrives! I got into bed and laid on my side and felt him moving around so I put my hand on my belly and what did I feel? He pushed the side of my belly to where I was able to FINALLY feel him moving from the outside. It was so exciting!!!!! Papa got to experience that for himself just last night. I had him put his hand on my belly as little guy was moving all around and at first he couldn't feel him moving and I said "Well he's right underneath your hand" and as soon as those words came out of my mouth little man decided to make his presence known and kicked papa's hand pretty hard! Papa's face light up and he couldn't stop smiling. It was priceless!!

We also got all the baby furniture put together this weekend which is great to have finished considering little guy already has a collection of clothes going on and we needed a place to put them! We're so excited about having the furniture all together and ready to go! We just need to get a mattress for the crib and we'll have everything we need, well except for the crib bedding. Thanks to Larry's grandma Connie and her sister Dolores, baby boy A now has a crib, dresser, and changing table. He's pretty spoiled already!!

Larry was so cute placing the baby toys on top of the dresser in just the right places. He wanted it to look just right!

Nimbus seems to like the changing table and we keep having to remind him that a baby is on the way and this stuff is for the baby, but for now he gets to be the baby and test it all out.
