Hot weekend it was!!

Well, another week down! Here we are, at 22 weeks, and on the down hill side of the arrival of baby boy Arnold! I can't believe time has gone by so fast already! Before we know it he will be here, and hopefully we can agree on a name before then! So far we haven't been able to find a name that we both like for him. I have tried surveying the little fella to see if there's any he seems to react to but nothing yet. Thank goodness we have a little bit of time.
This weekend has been a hot one so there wasn't anything to exciting that took place as I was all about staying cool! We did manage to venture into Champaign to the pool today which was heavenly on my back! I think we've now found a weekend must for the rest of the summer as it helps relieve the pain in my lower back. I did break down and buy a pregnancy back support belt so hopefully that will also help to relieve the pain, considering I sit most of the day at work and then go and sit for a couple hours every night in class.
We did manage to get a little bit of yard work done this weekend, mowing and pulling weeds, before it got to terribly hot! We also got out the puppies swimming pool for the first time this summer and they were in heaven! I wish I would have grabbed my camera to take pictures of them playing around in there. It was cute and they were happy to get cooled off!!
Hope everyone has a great week ahead of them and a long weekend to come with the 4th!

1 Week Down, 7 More To Go

This past week has been a very interesting week! I started my summer class and it's every evening during the week, except Fridays, for eight weeks. I was wiped by the time the weekend came. I'm use to being on the go all the time but not this much and especially not while being pregnant so it has taken a toll on my body. Hopefully this week will be a little bit easier!
Larry started classes this past week as well. He seemed to really enjoy them. I can't wait to see what kind of dishes he'll be making throughout this course. I have a feeling that baby boy and I are going to be eating well!
I'm one of the lucky ones who has back issues early on in the pregnancy so I have started seeing a chiropractor. It sure did help so we'll see what happens at the next appointment. Hopefully I will only have to go every other week but it all depends on my body!
Saturday we spent a good chunk of the day working on our baby registries. We had started them but couldn't finish until we knew what the sex was so we manged to knock that out. I'm so glad they are done and now we can not think about it the rest of the summer and focus on school!
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day this past weekend! Sure was a hot weekend for it!

Gender Reveal

What a weekend it has been! So busy but so very exciting! Papa, baby and I are exhausted from all the preparations BUT it was all worth it to see and hear everyones reaction to the big news!

Larry and I spent Saturday running errands for the big reveal party and then getting things ready such as preparing food and baking cakes, and lots of them! I also make pink and blue mints to have and made cupcakes to take to work with me on Monday. We were up early on Saturday and stayed up late getting everything ready!

Today was spent at home getting the cake all put together and iced, getting the house cleaned and ready, and preparing ourselves for letting out our big secret! It was hard staying quiet for a few days but it totally paid off in the end to see everyones reaction. It was great to have our families here to share the news with.

Here's Larry getting the cake together. It was a pretty genius idea he had and came together just perfect!

We made a three tiered cake for the big reveal. Instead of decorating in blue or pink we chose to decorate it in yellow and accent with blue and pink mints.

So what was the big "surprise"?

IT'S A BOY!!! Never thought I would be using that cake pan for announcing a baby sex's but it turned out perfect! Larry had the greatest idea to hollow out the bottom layer of the cake and hide our "gender" cake inside the bottom tier. When it came time to make the official announcement to our family we acted like we were going to cut into the cake but instead we lifted up the 3 tiered cake and revealed our "It's A Boy" surprise cake! It was priceless!! I wish I would have been able to get a video of everyones reactions but my hands were a little busy!
We had a great party though and everyone was so excited to learn there's a baby boy on the way! No name has been picked out as of yet but when we do pick out one we are keeping it a secret until he comes in to the world!

Here's the cupcakes that I made to take into work! I put blue and pink sprinkles on the top and in order to find out the sex everyone has to eat one as there is a "surprise" on the inside! I filled them with a blueberry jelly belly jellybean!

Here I am at 20 weeks, 2 days. Can't believe how my body has changed! I have lots of work ahead of me after this little one comes!

One last surprise we had for everyone at the party was these little announcement cards that I had made up! Our baby boy is going to hate me in years to come when he finds out that I handed out pictures of his parts but I couldn't resist! I thought it was so cute and I knew everyone would get a big kick out of it!!

Now that the news is out here are the sono pictures of our baby boy showing off his jewels! Let's just hope he isn't that free in showing them off when he gets older!!

Sono #3

Today was a big day for us! Our 3rd sono and what an amazing time it was! It's amazing how much our Goblin has grown since the last time we saw he/she on the big screen! Still, Goblin is a VERY active baby! The poor tech was having a hard time getting the measurements she needed because baby kept moving around so much. I think we're going to have our work cut out for us once little one arrives!!

Here's a great picture of the Goblin being silly and sitting upside down!

This is Goblins arm and hand! AMAZING!!!

Another arm view

Goblins foot! We now officially have the first foot print!!

We were lucky enough that Goblin cooperated and we were able to find out the sex, HOWEVER we aren't sharing just yet! We're having our family over on Sunday afternoon for a cookout and for the big reveal! We're anxious to share the news with everyone!!

Last Week of Freedom

This past weekend was pretty boring compared to last weekend but that's okay, I sure needed it! Saturday I was up early, thanks to the boys waking me up to go outside. It seems that the days I need to get up early for work I struggle but the days I can sleep in I am up early and wide awake! I was a bit worn down from the previous weekend and didn't get to catch up on my sleep during the week so I ended up taking two naps on Saturday! It was great to just be home and relax and not do a darn thing.
Sunday was another pretty relaxing day. Not much happened other than going to lunch at Chili's and running a couple errands. Of course when we got home we took a nap! Seems like those sure do come in handy for me these days!
This week is our last week of freedom! I start class on Monday and have class every night during the week except for Fridays. It's going to be a long eight weeks but it's going to make the summer go by so fast. Once classes are done it will be time to start really preparing for baby.
Larry also starts class next week as well! He's going to DACC for their Culinary Arts Certificate program. He is really excited and I'm excited for him as well! I've been telling him for a long time that he should go to culinary school, so this is a great step! Of course I'm not opposed to being his test subject for the foods he'll be making!
We have our appointment this week on Wednesday and we'll find out the sex of the little one! Unfortunately we aren't able to get our families together this weekend to tell them all at once so it looks like we might be waiting for another week. Don't worry, once we spill the beans to them we'll be spilling it to everyone else but our parents and siblings need to be the first ones to know before anyone else!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Wow, what a weekend! Even though it was a three day weekend it was packed with stuff and not much time for rest! I am looking forward to the coming weekend so I can kick back, relax, and be a complete bum!

Friday I left work early so we could get things loaded up and we headed to Forest Glen for camping! I love camping but always forget how much work it is to put up the tent and unpack everything as well as hoping you remember everything you need and the food you want. Our pump didn't work to blow up the air mattress so we had to sleep on the hard ground. Luckily we had packed a couple sleeping bags and a comforter that it wasn't to terribly bad. I also packed my full body pillow and a couple extra pillows so that help to cushion the hard ground.
Saturday we got up early and headed to Kickapoop for a little canoeing. It took us 4.5 hours to do the 8 mile canoe trip. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it. We put sunscreen on a few times throughout the trip but my right knee managed to still get burnt.
Sunday we got up early and packed up everything and headed home by 9am! We went out to breakfast on the way home instead of trying to cook something before we left. By the time we got home and got the cars unloaded we were wiped so we both took a nap, along with the puppies. After our nap we headed to town for some dinner and to see Sex and the City 2. Believe it or not Larry promised me he would go see the movie with me for my birthday so I held him to it!

Monday was my birthday but wasn't a real exciting day. We had lunch at Garfield's in Danville and then went to the cemetary to put flowers on Larry's grandpas grave and then headed back to Oakwood to his grandmas house for a cookout for his cousin who graduated high school this week. It was a great weekend for the most part but not a lot of relaxing and not really time for celebrating my birthday! Oh well, I guess that's what I get for getting older and being pregnant. Next year my birthday won't even matter because the little one will be here!

Next week is the big week so we'll know whether Baby A is a girl or a boy. Stay tuned...........................
